My free SMS didn't go out

When the send fails right in the form, the origin is almost always local: entering the number, the content of the text or an authorisation already used. This scenario has nothing to do with a message properly sent but never arrived at the recipient's, a topic covered on another page.

The causes, from the most common to the rarest

   The number entered is not a valid French mobile

   Only ten-digit numbers starting with 06 or 07 are accepted. A landline, an international notation with +33 or one extra space is enough to block the check before the send even happens.

2. 2

   The text becomes empty once converted

   Any character absent from the GSM-7 alphabet is transformed or removed before departure. A message reduced to emojis or written in a non-Latin alphabet can empty itself entirely, and an empty message doesn't get delivered.

3. 3

   The confirmation authorisation has already been used

   Each confirmation is valid for a single send only. Reloading the tab or clicking twice uses up this token, so the second attempt is rejected.

4. 4

   The service didn't respond

   More rarely, the sending service is momentarily unavailable. The form prefers to say so clearly rather than let you believe a send succeeded.

Steps to follow

   Check the format of the number

   Ten digits, an 06 or 07 prefix, no space or foreign code. Delete anything that may have been pasted from a directory or a contact card.

   Re-read the message via the counter

   The character counter reveals what your text actually becomes: if almost nothing remains after conversion, rewrite it in simple Latin letters.

3. 3

   Start again from the form, without refreshing

   Relaunch a send from the home page instead of refreshing the confirmation screen, which would cancel the authorisation token.

   Try again after a short delay

   If the error comes back over several attempts with a number you know is right, the problem is on our side: the contact form is precisely there to report it to us.
