We draw on the open data of ARCEP (the French telecoms regulator) to trace the evolution of usage — SMS, voice, data, mobile subscriptions — and to map mobile masts territory by territory. All the pages are filterable and refreshed periodically at the source.

The annual series come from ARCEP's Electronic Communications Observatory; the mobile masts from the "Mon réseau mobile" survey (sites providing a mobile service). A site can carry several technologies (2G to 5G). These figures describe the deployment, not the quality experienced on the ground. Data published under the Open Licence / Etalab 2.0.
