The OTP is a code usable only once and for just a few minutes. Delivered by SMS, it stands as the most widespread second authentication factor, since it requires no installation on the recipient's side.

Its commonplace nature must not make us forget its flaws: SMS is not end-to-end encrypted and remains vulnerable to SIM-card hijacking as well as phishing. An OTP code should be shared with no one, not even a supposed advisor.
