Name precisely what you're thankful for

A vague thank-you sounds like a courtesy; a targeted thank-you sounds like genuine care. A single concrete mention — the gesture, the moment, the object — is enough to change the tenor of the message.

Don't delay

A thank-you sent the next day beats a perfect thank-you sent a week later. After a few days, you have to apologise for the delay, and the subject shifts despite you.
