Raw figures, neither rounded nor smoothed, exactly as the gateway records them.
Scope: what these figures say, and what they don't
These volumes concern only the Envoyer SMS Gratuit gateway. They in no way reflect national SMS traffic, whose official data falls under ARCEP, the telecoms regulator. Taking them for the French market would be a misreading. Aggregated, they identify no sender.
Methodology
An SMS is counted as sent as soon as the gateway has accepted it after the sender's confirmation, and as received as soon as it reaches the incoming line. The periods are based on the French time zone. A long message split into several segments counts as a single send, not the number of segments carried.
